	The Mysterious Island 著者: Jules Verne ISBN: 0451529413	Although parts of this sci-fi/ historical fiction piece were over my head (one of the main characters is an engineer, afterall), but the characters and the struggles were a good long escape from the ordinary. If you ever get a craving to watch Survivor, read this instead. It has the stranded aspect, without the lame reality TV snags.

	The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Puffin Classics) 著者: Mark Twain ISBN: 0141321091	I read this before I was forced to by an English class. And I loved the dialects Twain was able to present, as well as the different types of characers. Going back through it critically was equally fascinating, since there is more than just the first fun layer, there are deeper messages and challenges to contemplate that make this good reading for younger readers, as well as adults.

	Excavation 著者: James Rollins ISBN: 038081093X	Although neither long nor particularly deep, i8t was fun. It took a couple chapters, but once it caught me, I couldn't put it down until I knew how it ended. It is a wonderfull suspenseful and colorful sci-fi/ historical fiction work that doesn't get caught in the usual paperback adventurer pattern.

	The Changeling Sea (Firebird) 著者: Patricia A. McKillip ISBN: 0141312629	Even though I again got it from the "children's literature" section, it has an engaging plot and, unlike some of her longer stories, the ending doesn't seem rushed beacuse the whole thing is a quick read. Her imagery and characters are always vibrant, and it was this book that pulled me into reading her others.

	The Three Musketeers (Barnes & Noble Classics) 著者: Alexandre Dumas ISBN: 1593081480	Aside from a few moments where I wanted to slap either the author or the character and Athos' line "I'm ambidextrous.", this is a fun adventure in a historical fantasy land. None of the heroes are perfect, but that makes them more human and interesting. They have backgrounds and quirks that make them endearing and the story memorable.

	Little Women (Barnes & Noble Classics) 著者: Louisa May Alcott ISBN: 1593081081	This is another book I escape to when life becomes too pessimisstic and complex. The March girls each have some difficulties and traits that I can relate to and it is fun to follow their everyday "adventures". The sequel books, Little Men and Jo's Boys, I enjoyed as well. The loss of some older characters was sad, but the younger generation taught by Jo are fascinating characters, too.

	The Complete Anne of Green Gables Boxed Set (Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, Anne of the Island, Anne of Windy Poplars, A 著者: L.M. Montgomery ISBN: 0553609416	I love the whole series (at least, through book four, I haven't read the last two yet), but the first book is the best. The fourth ranks lower on my list because of the format of some of the text. The series isn't a grande plot, more of a going along with Anne through her life. The first introduces everything and is one of the most vibrant because of Anne's learning experiences. It's a pleasant places to visit when life becomes particularly hectic or bleak.

	New International Version Archaeological Study Bible	Although weighing a ton, this is the Bible that comes with me to school, to church, and home again. It's in language I can easily understand (not that I couldn't understand King James Version), as well as having a plethora of extra information, such as notes on places & customs, pictures, and maps in color.

	The Chronicles of Narnia Movie Tie-in Box Set (adult) 著者: C. S. Lewis ISBN: 006082042X	I know, technically 7 books, but the go together. My favorites are The Horse and His Boy and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Second place goes to The Magician's Nephew & The Silver Chair. Lewis impressed me with his ability to have a good fantasy story that incorporates Christian beliefs into the fabric without being pushy or preachy about it, plus is "children's literature" without feeling like it is limited to that.

	The Lord of the Rings 著者: J.R.R. Tolkien ISBN: 0618260587	I know most people get bogged down in all the detail, but I was fascinated by Tolkien's ability to follow multiple groups as he wove the tale of the War of the Ring. Plus, Tolkien was able to have all of this background for the world and the characters without it getting in the way of the story itself.

	The Hobbit 著者: J.R.R. Tolkien ISBN: 0618260307	This is a interesting, quick read that is a good segway (I know, I misspelled it) into the more detailed and elaborate Trilogy, but is perfectly capable of standing alone, too. It's "children's literature" that you can reread for years without feeling the need to lower your expectations.
